Jason Karolak

Jason Karolak creates abstract, geometric paintings informed by architecture, music, color phenomena, and screen technologies.

Karolak’s paintings pull from the vernacular of objects in his immediate environment and research into utopian and communal societies. Color is organized into floating, illuminated structures, suggesting imagined or speculative architecture, set within a projected space. Stimulating, charged color is counterbalanced with a sense of quiet and air, as the paintings create spaces for contemplation, restoration, and mystery.
