Avram Finkelstein is an artist, writer, and founding member of the Silence=Death and Gran Fury collectives.

His interdisciplinary practice uses public space to address gendered hierarchies and questions of accessibility. Foregrounding the manner in which every social space is both accessible and restricted, Finkelstein highlights the tensions between marking and erasure, identity and colonization, agency and refusal. Spurred by an interest in shared space, his current work examines the dilemmas of collective history and cultural storytelling.
